A friend of mine, Lucas Carlson, just finished the Ruby Cookbook with the help of Leonard Richardson and it’s amazing. (I’m a little jealous because I would love to say I’ve finished my cookbook, but soon enough.)
So, the big news: In an attempt to pry some of those weird Rubyists away from the weird Prags, O’Reilly finially got their act together and just released the Ruby Cookbook as a full, searchable PDF for 50% off the cover price. A damn sweet deal, to be sure. Once you buy your copy and realize how good it is, make sure to post a good review.
This offering marks the first full-length book that O’Reilly has done as a PDF, lets hope there’s more of this to come.
And here the full-copy was just sitting in my Amazon cart. I wanted a PDF, but didn’t know one was coming out.
The PDF’s are much more useful as I can do text-searches and “carry it” along with me wherever I go without filling up my bag.
